Markets Rally, Gold Retreats, Penn National Climbs

U.S. Stock Indexes closed mixed today on expected unemployment numbers and falling oil prices. The DJIA closed up today +73.03 at 11,288.54, the Nasdaq slipped -6.08 to 1262.90 and the S&P 500 added +1.38 to 1262.90.

Penn National Gaming (PENN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) added 3.11% or $0.89 to $29.49/share after axing a buy out plan by Fortress. Fortress is tied to a $1.475 billion cash infusion into the company due to breaking deal.

Arch Coal (ACI | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) climbed 2.40% or $1.49 to $63.70 after bouncing back from being knocked down earlier in the week.

Nvidia (NVDA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) collapsed 30.95% or $5.58 to $12.49/share due to guiding lower for second quarter revenue.

Blockbuster (BB | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) - The video rental company fell 1.13% or $0.03 to $2.62/share after pulling its bid for Circuit City.

Oil hit another intraday record today, prior to pulling back, climbing $0.66 to 144.23/barrel. Gold retreated $12.80 to $933.70/oz.
