Futures Pivots, Support and Resistance

Pivot points are derived from the high, low, and closing prices of the most
recent trading day, and are used to project intraday support (S1, S2) and
resistance (R1, R2) levels for the following trading day. These levels have
long been used by floor traders on the futures exchanges to identify
intraday inflection points. For information on trading pivot points, see our article in the Education Section.
