Affymetrix Enters Into Agreement With Avesthagen - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Affymetrix Inc. (AFFX | news | PowerRating | PR Charts ) on Monday said it entered into an agreement with Avesthagen Limited, a biotechnology company based in Bangalore, India. Spinco Biotech Pvt. Ltd. would supply the Affymetrix microarray technology and provide technical support to Avesthagen.

As per the agreement, Affymetrix' microarray technology would be used for the Avestagenome Project, a comprehensive genetic study of more than 60,000 Parsi individuals. The project would explore the genetic basis of longevity and create a genetic, genealogic and medical database of the Parsi-Zoroastrian population.
