Wal-Mart To Host Free Ice Cream Events - Update

(RTTNews) - Retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT | news | PowerRating | PR Charts ) on Friday said that it is hosting ice cream social events in 2,523 Supercenters throughout the country. The company said the events are organized as a kickoff to summer and a way to help shoppers "beat the heat" this season.

Shoppers, who visit Wal-Mart Supercenters on Sunday, May 18, between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m., will receive a free ice cream sundae with their favorite toppings.

The flavors and toppings available to shoppers include Blue Bunny Premium Tracks, Breyers Chocolate Crackle, Edy's Loaded Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Hershey's Chocolate Syrup, Smucker's Triple Berry Sauce, Reddi-Wip Original and Keebler Sandies Cookies, the company noted.

WMT is trading at $58.46, up $0.39, or 0.67%, on a volume of 394 thousands shares.
