The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based Lannett stated that Phentermine Hydrochloride or HCl is indicated for the short-term management of obesity. According to Wolters Kluwer, sales of generic Phentermine HCI Capsules exceeded $37 million for the 12 months ended October 2007.
Arthur Bedrosian, president and chief executive officer of Lannett commented, "This approval complements our Phentermine HCI Tablet 37.5 mg which is the generic equivalent of Adipex-P, marketed by Gate Pharmaceuticals, a division of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, and is an important addition to our product portfolio."
LCI closed Wednesday's regular trading at $3.55, up $0.20 or 5.97%, on a volume of 20 thousand shares.
