Yahoo! Joins With Belo Television Web Sites To Offer Local Video Online

(RTTNews) - Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO | news | PowerRating | PR Charts ) said Wednesday that it has entered into an agreement with Belo Corp. (BLC | news | PowerRating | PR Charts ) to provide local news video to Yahoo! News in their respective markets.

Under the new agreement, the two companies have agreed to share advertising revenue generated from the video clips.

Yahoo said the videos will be available on local news pages of Yahoo! News and be provided to all users when major news breaks in local markets.

The Sunnyvale, California-based company said that the addition of Belo news video expands its local news TV coverage on Yahoo! News to include local news video in 18 of the top 25 markets in the country.

Yahoo's video partnership with Belo's television Web sites adds to the previously announced agreements between Yahoo and Belo's newspaper Web sites.

YHOO is currently trading at $21.48, down $1.13 or 5.00%, while BLC is currently trading at $14.96, down 51 cents or 3.30%.
