Weyerhaeuser Q3 Profit Falls - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Weyerhaeuser Company (WY | charts | news | PowerRating) reported net earnings of $101 million for the third quarter of 2007, or 47 cents per diluted share, compared to $224 million, or 91 cents per diluted share, in the same quarter last year.

Excluding items, the company earned $118 million, or 55 cents per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2007, compared to $236 million, or 95 cents per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2006. On average, 17 analysts polled by First Call/Thomson Financial expected earnings of 49 cents per share for the latest quarter.

Sales declined to $4.1 billion from $4.6 billion in the year-ago period. Eight Wall Street analysts' consensus revenue estimate came in at $4.39 billion.
