Transportation stocks are turning in some of the worst performances after helping to lead the way higher on Thursday. Most of the other major sectors have also moved to the downside, although they are showing more modest declines.
In the past few minutes, the major averages have moved well off their lows for the young session, although they currently remain in the red. The Dow is currently down 26.68 at 8,445.72, the Nasdaq is down 5.09 at 1,824.45 and the S&P 500 is down 2.57 at 917.69.
