Catalyst Semiconductor Closes At Multi-Month High

(RTTNews) - Catalyst Semiconductor (CATS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) gapped open higher and continued to drift upward throughout the Thursday's trading. The spike upward came on news the company will be acquired by ON Semiconductor (ONNN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) in an all-stock transaction.

The stock broke resistance and surpassed its 50-day and 200-day moving averages. Shares closed at their highest level since late October, up $2.39 at $6.45.
