(RTTNews) - AutoZone (AZO | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) gapped open higher and continued to climb throughout the most of Friday's trading, at its steepest during the first half hour of the session.

The stock broke resistance and surpassed its 200-day moving average. Shares closed at their highest level in about two and a half weeks, up $5.46 at $120.13.
