Alcoa Holds Gains In Pre-Market On Earnings Results

(RTTNews) - Alcoa, Inc. (AA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is continuing to show strength during Wednesday's pre-market trading following the release of quarterly results that fell in line with analysts' expectations.

At 8:47 am ET the stock is trading at $33.80 up $1.43 from Tuesday's close.

With the advance, the stock stands to open having reversed Tuesday's losses.

The company reported second-quarter net income of $546 million, or $0.66 per share, compared to $715 million, or $0.81 per share, in the same quarter last year.

On average, 15 analysts polled by First Call/Thomson Financial expected earnings of $0.66 per share for the second quarter.
