(RTTNews) - JC Penney Co. (JCP | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) reported a 2.4% decrease in June comparable store sales Thursday morning.

JC Penney gapped down Thursday and fell in the first 45 minutes of trade. The stock dropped further around mid-afternoon and closed lower by 3.59 at $31.93 on above average volume. JC Penney fell below support and closed at a new low for the year.
