Barr Pharmaceuticals Finishes At Highest Level Since April 2006

(RTTNews) - Barr Pharmaceuticals (BRL | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) gapped open higher and rose throughout most of the first half hour of Friday's trading amid strong volume, before moving sideways throughout the rest of the session. The climb came on news that Teva (TEVA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) will buy the company for $66.50 per share in cash and stock.

The stock added onto Thursday's substantial gain and closed at its highest level since April 2006, up $6.58 at $63.75.
