(RTTNews) - National Oilwell Varco, Inc. (NOV | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) gapped open lower on Friday and fell in waves for most of the day. During the last hour of trading the stock pared some of its losses.

The stock ended the session at $23.42 down $5.28 from Thursday's close.

The decline came on strong volume and took the stock to its lowest level in over three years.
