(RTTNews) - Wednesday, after the closing bell, Select Comfort Corp. (SCSS | charts | news | PowerRating) reported third quarter earnings will likely fall short of analysts' current consensus estimate, but that should approximate year-ago third quarter's earnings per share.

Analysts currently expect EPS of $0.27. The company reported EPS of $0.25 for the year-ago third quarter.

The company's CFO Raabe, said in a conference call, the transcript of which was disclosed in a regulatory filing, that the company's retail sales trends have improved compared with the first and second quarters, but its business performance is not as consistent as desired.

Raabe also said that the company is currently on track to achieve the low-end of its full year 2007 sales and earnings targets. SCSS had previously forecast earnings of $0.87 - $0.93 per share and sales of $840 - $860 million for the full year 2007.

Analysts currently expect the company to earn $0.86 per share on revenue of $845.03 million for the full year 2007.
