Syntax-Brillian Plunges On Disappointing Outlook; CFO Departs

(RTTNews) - Wednesday, after the closing bell, Syntax-Brillian Corp. (BRLC | charts | news | PowerRating) reported fourth quarter EPS of $0.11, compared to a net loss of $0.11 per share a year ago. Analysts expected EPS of $0.12 for the quarter.

Revenues for the quarter soared 243% to $205.26 million from $59.81 million reported in the same period last year. Analysts estimated revenues of $198.11 million for the period.

In addition, Syntax-Brillian said that Wayne Pratt, its chief financial officer, would resign, effective September 30, 2007 to take a position working with a longstanding colleague at a start-up company located in Tempe, Ariz.

For the first quarter, Syntax-Brillian anticipates revenue in the range of $170 - $180 million. Analysts expect revenue of $256.58 million.

For the calendar year ending December 31, 2007, Syntax-Brillian anticipates revenue in the range of $1.0 - $1.1 billion.
