This change marks the first time TomTom, a navigation solutions provider, has adopted the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model for any of its mission critical systems and is part of the business's preparation for future growth.
Projecting future customer acquisition and exponential enquiry growth, the decision by TomTom to migrate to RightNow's on demand system is in part to future-proof its business by taking full advantage of RightNow's multi-tenant hosting architecture and the economies of scale it offers. The aim is to negate any unnecessary infrastructure costs and gain tighter total cost of ownership control. Any internal resources previously allocated to running the on-premise implementation will be reassigned to other essential projects.
