Moth Eye, which employs Blu-ray Disc manufacturing technology to produce a display film covered with numerous minute bumps, slashes reflection on the surface to 0.1 percent or less for visible light, reducing screen glare to roughly 1/30 that of conventional LCD films, the business daily said.
This improves monitors' light display efficiency by 10 percent or more, enabling them to show vivid images even in bright environments.
Sony aims to use the film in its LCD panels to add value to its hand-held electronics and personal computers, the report said.
