NOTICE TEXT: Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons Field Acquisition Office (FAO) The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office in Grand Prairie, Texas intends to make a single award for the provision of Dental Hygienist Services for the inmate population at the United Stated Penitentiary - Lee, located at Lee County Industrial Park, Hickory Flats Road, Pennington Gap, Virginia. The Contractor shall be responsible for the commercial practices of a dental hygienist. Services to be provided include: dental health education; dental screening examination; subgingival scaling and preparation of patients for periodontal surgery; root planning; soft tissue curettage; dental charting; placing temporary fillings; polishing amalgam and composite restoration; application of pit and fissure sealants; exposes, processes, and mounts intraoral and extraoral x-rays, including bite wings, periapical, occlusal, and panoramic films; maintains specialized equipment and manages dental hygiene supplies; document and maintain records regarding all treatment for inmate patients; be knowledgeable of all infection control techniques and be able to apply them; and other general duties recognized as routine in a dental clinic. Contractor qualifications include having a current Virginia state license as a dental/oral hygienist, being certified in cardio-pulminary resuscitation, and having at least 2 years of experience. The maximum estimated quantities for the base and each option year is 1560 one hour sessions per year. The contract shall consist of a base year with four (4) twelve (12) month option periods for renewal. The solicitation will be made available on or about April 1, 2008 and will be distributed solely through the General Administrations Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/.
