HANOI, Apr 2, 2008 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- -- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nong Duc Manh left here Wednesday for his state visits to Angola and Mozambique.

The visits from April 2 to 6 aim to strengthen traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the two African countries, especially in economics and trade, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

Vietnam and Mozambique have signed cooperation agreements on investment encouragement and protection, agriculture, education and health since their diplomatic relations establishment in 1975.

Vietnam and Angola set up their diplomatic ties in 1975. The two countries inked several agreements, including a trade agreement in 1978, a framework agreement on economic, cultural and technical cooperation in 1979 and a special agreement on sending Vietnamese experts to Angola in 1984.
