- Commercial banks report a drop in the volume of savings deposits. Recently, especially between mid February and now, commercial banks have faced a slow increase and even decrease in the volume of savings deposits despite of their efforts to raise savings interest rates and boost promotional activities.
- Ba Ria-Vung Tau province a bright spot in attracting foreign direct investment. According to the Ministry of Planning and Investments Foreign Investment Department, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province ranks second, after Ho Chi Minh City , in attracting FDI. More than US$5.4 billion in FDI has been poured into the country in the first quarter of this year, up 31 per cent from the same period last year.
- Binh Duong province develops key industries. Priorities are given to the supporting industries and human resources training.
