Apr 28, 2008 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Sunday revised upward its earlier projection about Bangladesh's GDP growth for the fiscal 2007-08 (July 2007-June 2008) from 5-5.5 percent to 5.5-6.0 percent following improvement in exports and agricultural production.

The IMF, however, suggested the government look into the inflation, which remains a "key policy challenge for the government." (Bangladesh-GDP) - - - - YANGON -- Myanmsr exported 352,652 tons of marine products, hitting 561 million U.S. dollars in the fiscal year of 2007-08 which ended in March, the local Weekly Eleven News quoted the fishery department as reporting Monday.

The figures was up from 2006-07's 234 million dollars but stood less against 2007-08's target which was set at 750 million dollars. (Myanmar-Marine) - - - - CARACAS -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Sunday threatened to expropriate the country's largest steel maker Ternium Sidor unless it slashed demands for nationalization compensation.

The government has rejected a request by Sidor's parent company, Luxembourg-based Ternium SA, for 4 billion U.S. dollars in exchange for its 60 percent-stake in the iron and steel company in the Orinoco region, Chavez said in his weekly radio and TV broadcast. (Venezuela-Sidor) - - - - MEXICO CITY -- Thousands of demonstrators marched along Mexico City's streets Sunday to protest against the government's plan to privatize the nation's oil industry.

The protest was led by former Mexico City mayor and presidential candidate Andres Lopez Obrador. More than 30,000 people took part in the rally, local police said. (Mexico-Protest-Oil Privatization)
