Int?l jewel fair opens in Ho Chi Minh City

HCM City, May 02, 2008 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) -- -- ? A dazzling array of diamonds, precious stones, pearls, watches and clocks has been showcased at the International Jewellery Vietnam 2008 (IJV 2008), opened in Ho Chi Minh on May 2.

Co-organised by the World Trade Fair Co Ltd (Hong Kong ? China) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry?s Fair Organisation Co (VCCI), the fair drew participation of 100 enterprises from 15 countries around the world.

The fair catered to the needs of retailers, store buyers and private collectors, with exhibits of all aspects of the jewellery trade including tools, displays and packaging. A range of support services for businesses engaged in jewellery production also participated in the fair.

The fair?s organizers said Vietnam is a promising market for jewellery enterprises, with the annual market growth rate increasing from 15 percent to 18 percent. The demand for diamonds and precious stones is forecast to nudge 300 million USD this year.
