Bangkok, May 23, 2008 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) -- -- ? Thai businessmen are showing increasing interest in Vietnam, a country with political stability and an attractive policy for foreign investment, Thailand?s Ambassador to Vietnam Kittipong Na Ranong said on May 23.

Over the past two years, Vietnam has made various reforms and enjoyed fast economic development, the ambassador told a two-day seminar in Bangkok on Vietnam?s economic potential.

Thai economic experts at the seminar echoed the ambassador?s words and said Vietnam offers numerous economic potentials such as low labour costs, rich natural resources and big investment capital.

Vietnam?s infrastructure has greatly improved after the country increased foreign investment in the field, the experts said, adding this has contributed to attracting more investors, including those from Thailand.

The biggest ever-economic seminar between Thailand and Vietnam will see the presentation of seven scientific studies relating to the two sides? economic fields.

The topic ?Vietnam-Thailand: Competitor or economic partner? will be also discussed at the seminar.

The seminar, which began on May 23, is being jointly held by the Thai Foreign Ministry, the Thai Prime Minister Office and the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Organisation in Bangkok. ?
