Jun 11, 2008 (AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION via COMTEX) -- DALW | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) has applied for permission from the US Department of Transportation to introduce a new nonstop service between New York's John F Kennedy International Airport and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The airline is planning to launch flights on the route in December this year, offering five flights per week through to April and then four per week during the rest of the year.

The service would complement Delta's existing daily nonstop service between Buenos Aires and Atlanta, the airline said.
