Jun 20, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- RHAT | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Open source applications provider Red Hat has introduced three applications targeting enterprise-wide adoption of next-generation virtualization.

It has introduced embedded Linux Hypervisor for hosting virtualized Linux and Windows environments, which provide virtualization with improved security, high performance, and a wide range of hardware. The Virtual Infrastructure Management application enables enterprise IT to build and manage internal clouds. The company has also introduced a centralized security management technology through the FreeIPA project.

Paul Cormier, president of Products and Technology at Red Hat, said: "Red Hat is leading the drive to open source virtualization solutions that deliver what proprietary products can not: open standards, true multi-vendor support, and the ultimate in deployment and operational flexibility. Intel and IBM have worked with us for many years covering virtualization technologies that span from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 to today's KVM-based announcements."
