Perma-Fix unit wins waste management subcontract from Department of Energy

BOSTON, Jun 20, 2008 (Thomson Financial via COMTEX) -- PESI | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Perma-Fix Environmental Services Inc. Friday said its subsidiary has been awarded a subcontract for waste management and facility operations at the Department of Energy's Hanford, Wash., site.

The company said its subsidiary, East Tennessee Materials & Energy Corp., is a small business team member of the CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Co. team led by CH2M Hill Constructors Inc. that has been awarded the prime contract.

The contract awarded to the CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Co. team is a cost-plus award-fee contract valued at about $4.5 billion over 10 years.
