Tibco Software To Buy Insightful

(NASDAQ: TIBX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) (Current Market Cap: US$23.62 Mil.) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Insightful Corp. (NASDAQ: IFUL), in a cash deal worth around $25 million.

Insightful, a provider of statistical data analysis and data mining solutions,

is expected to complement Tibco's business optimization portfolio, including the firm's Spotfire's Enterprise Analytic Platform.

The deal should close during Tibco's fiscal third quarter. Until the deal closes, each company will continue to operate independently.

Palo Alto, California-based Tibco offers infrastructure software designed to give customers the ability to connect applications and data in a service-oriented architecture. The company serves more than 3,000 customers from offices in over twenty countries.
