Eagle Bulk takes delivery of new-build supramax vessel

Jun 24, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- EGLE | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Eagle Bulk Shipping has taken delivery of the supramax new-build vessel Wren, the first of its 35 new-build supramax vessels slated for delivery by 2012.

The 53,100dwt Wren has been delivered into the company's fleet ahead of schedule and immediately commenced a 10-year term charter.

Sophocles Zoullas, chairman and CEO of Eagle Bulk, said: "The delivery of the Wren represents an important milestone for our company. Our shareholders will now begin to realize the benefits of our well-timed supramax new-build program, as the Wren is one of 35 new vessels set to join the fleet between now and early 2012."
