GUANGZHOU, Jun 25, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- ETN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Eaton Corporation (NYSE: ETN), a US-based diversified industrial manufacturer in aerospace, automotive, electrical and hydraulic fields, will promote green energy in the automotive market in China.

The Fortune-500 company adopted its hybrid power system in 30 city buses of Sunshine Bus Co., Ltd. in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong Province in January 2008 as a trial.

The hybrid buses have excellent performance in drive and fuel economy and save nearly 40% of fuel cost alone, said Zhang Weixiong, chairman of the bus operator.

Driven by soaring oil prices, environmentally friendly car market is meeting great opportunities. To share larger portion in the country, Eaton has signed cooperation agreement with South China University of Technology and the bus operator on R&D, manufacture and operation of more efficient hybrid cars with less fuel consumption and emission.

Eaton, which sells products to over 150 countries and territories with sales revenue of USD 13 billion in 2007, entered China in 1993 and has set up 23 factories in the country.
