Amazon.com announces acquisition of Fabric.com

Jun 26, 2008 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- AMZN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Amazon.com Inc (Nasdaq:AMZN), an on-line retailer, announced on Wednesday (25 June) that the company has acquired Fabric.com, an online fabric store offering measured and cut fabrics, patterns, sewing tools and accessories.

This acquisition will reportedly allow Amazon.com to offer its customers a wider variety of products in the sewing, craft and hobby segment.

The company said that Fabric.com will continue to function as a stand-alone operation based in Marietta, Georgia, USA.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
