Excelcomindo selects Alcatel-Lucent solutions to provide carrier Ethernet services in Jakarta

Jun 27, 2008 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- ALU | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris: ALU | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) (NYSE:ALU), a network solutions company, has said that PT Excelcomindo (XL), a cellular provider in Indonesia, has chosen Alcatel-Lucent's IP/MPLS solutions to provide carrier Ethernet services in Jakarta's business district.

XL will deploy Alcatel-Lucent's products, including the 7750 Service Router, 7450 Ethernet Service Switch, 7250 Service Access Switch and the 5260 Service Aware Manager, to provide an all-IP service to its corporate customers. XL will offer virtual leased lines and virtual private LAN services as well as circuit emulation services.

The contract also includes consultation, design project management, application/software installation, equipment installation and commissioning maintenance support. No financial details of the deal were released.
