iPass expands to 600 hot spots in China

Jun 30, 2008 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- IPAS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- In an agreement with Coordinate Technologies Communications Limited (CTCL) of China, iPass Inc (Nasdaq: IPAS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) will roll out the first stage of its expansion into China by activating 600 new hot spots in six Chinese cities. CTCL provides Wi-Fi roaming hubs for Chinese carriers.

By the conclusion of the rollout iPass will have hot spots at all of CTCL's nearly 1,600 access points. iPass currently has some 2,500 active wireless broadband locations across China and Hong Kong, providing a large percentage of the available commercial hotspots.

The partnership with CTCL will enable the mobile Chinese worker access in the Chinese hubs of Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Tianjin and Shenyang and Qinhuangdao, including nearly 50 international and domestic airports, 700 hotels and other hospitality locations.
