AgFeed Industries expects 'strong' 2Q financial results

BOSTON, Jul 02, 2008 (Thomson Financial via COMTEX) -- FEED | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- AgFeed Industries Inc. said Tuesday that it expects to report "strong" second-quarter financial results before the Aug. 14 reporting deadline.

Songyan Li, the company's chairman, said: "Our significantly expanded economies of scale should more than offset small increases in certain raw materials costs."

The company also said that with a "strong" balance sheet, it intends to continue to acquire additional producing hog farms.
