Danish imaging solutions company Contex acquires US distributor Ideal Scanners Distribution

Jul 02, 2008 (NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT via COMTEX) -- DIDCF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Swedish private equity company Ratos AB (OMX Stockholm: RATO A) (OMX Stockholm: RATO B) said on Wednesday (2 July) that its Danish 2D and 3D digital imaging solutions company Contex Holding has agreed to acquire the US company Ideal Scanners Distribution.

Ideal Scanners Distribution is Contex's largest distributor in the US. The company has 18 employees and reported sales of SEK57m in 2007.

"The acquisition of Ideal Distribution will provide Contex with access to Ideal's large distribution network. We will be able to establish closer ties with distributors and end customers more effectively and this will enable us to better meet customer demands and preferences," commented Svenn Poulsen, CEO of Contex Holdings.

Ratos, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, invests in and develops primarily unlisted companies. Its portfolio has a market capitalisation of approximately SEK33bn. Its holdings include AH Industries, Anticimex, Arcus Gruppen, Bisnode, Camfil, Contex, DIAB, EuroMaint, GS-Hydro, Haglofs, HL Display, HAG/RH/RBM, Hagglunds Drives, Inwido, Jotul, Lindab, MCC, Medifiq Healthcare and Superfos.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 11.85 Swedish kronor (SEK).
