Amerer Air to purchase BAE Systems freighter conversion aircraft

Jul 08, 2008 (AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION via COMTEX) -- BAESF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Global defence and aerospace company BAE Systems Regional Aircraft reported yesterday (7 July) that Amerer Air, an Austrian cargo airline, is planned to be the first customer for the BAe 146 QT (Quiet Trader) freighter programme.

Amerer Air intends to buy a Series 200 (msn E2099), BAE Systems' first BAe 146 QT conversion. The aircraft made its first flight on 25 June, and will now be put through final maintenance checks before delivery to Amerer Air's Linz base.

Amerer Air intends to use the aircraft for ad hoc freight charter work, and on behalf of integrator companies.
