Jul 08, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- STBJF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Starbucks Coffee Japan has said that it will increase the prices of some of its products, according to Japan Corporate News Network. This hike reflects a rise in the prices of certain ingredients and transportation costs.

Effective July 16, 2008, the company will hike the prices of some 20 coffee beverages and five coffee bean products. The prices of drinks are to go up by about JPY10 to JPY30, whereas coffee bean prices will be hiked by JPY100 for a pack of 250 grams.

Starbucks Coffee Japan officials maintained that fluctuations in international market prices of coffee beans have not affected the company as it buys coffee beans directly from contracted farmers.
