Shanghai Xinsuo to Roll Out Blu-ray Discs within 08

SHANGHAI, Jul 10, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- SNE | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Shanghai Xinsuo Music Co., Ltd. plans to expand the monthly Blu-ray disc production capacity of its Shanghai plant to 500,000 pieces in the first phase by the end of 2008.

Shanghai Xinsuo is a 49-51 cooperative business between Sony Corporation, the chief member of the Blu-ray Disc Association, and the Chinese party, namely, Shanghai Xinhui Cultural Entertainment Group, and Shanghai Jinwin Investment Co., Ltd. under the wings of Shanghai Media Group (SMG). Its disc plant is situated in the Shanghai Songjiang Industrial Zone.

The company is a premier Hollywood film disc supplier in the Chinese market, citing Shanghai Xinsuo Director and Sony Disc & Digital Solutions Inc. President Dieter Daum. Sony has set up a Blu-ray compilation studio in Hong Kong, and is brewing to establish another one in Shanghai.

After Shanghai Xinsuo achieves its first-stage goal, following Blue-ray disc production lines will be built and put into production in succession.
