Mesa Air Group passenger traffic falls 15.3% in June

Jul 10, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- MESA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- The Mesa Air Group has reported that its passenger traffic measured in revenue passenger miles decreased 15.28% from 621.1 million in June 2007, to 526.17 million in June 2008.

The year-over-year available seat miles decreased 12.69% in June 2008 to 669.28 million, compared to 766.57 million in June 2007. Passenger enplanements decreased 23.05% from 1.47 million in June 2007 to 1.13 million in June 2008.

The year-over-year load factor for the month of June 2008 was 78.62% in 2008 compared to 81.02% in 2007. Mesa's on-time performance for June 2008 was 67.6%.

Jonathan Ornstein, chairman and CEO of the Mesa Air Group, said: "Unfortunately much of the operation was impacted by severe weather and air traffic control issues significantly impacting our on time performance. I would like once more to thank our employees for their superb effort and continued support."
