UPM-Kymmene Corporation completes rebuild of chemical recovery plant in Finland

Jul 11, 2008 (NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT via COMTEX) -- UPM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Finnish paper products company UPM-Kymmene Corporation (NYSE:UPM) said on Thursday (10 July) that it has completed the rebuild of the chemical recovery plant at its Kymi pulp mill in Kuusankoski, Finland.

The company said that the new plant has started operations after a one month test period preceded by large connecting work between production lines.

During the connecting works, the paper mill was shut down for six days at the end of May. The final investment value exceeds EUR340m, the company added. UPM-Kymmene is a printing paper producer with production in 15 countries and a sales network covering more than 170 companies. UPM-Kymmene is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Helsinki and on the NYSE.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.26 euros (EUR).
