June sales announced by The Bon-Ton Stores

Jul 11, 2008 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- BONT | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- The Bon-Ton Stores Inc (Nasdaq:BONT), an operator of stores and furniture galleries, announced on Thursday (10 July) sales for the five weeks ended 5 July 2008.

Total sales for June were down by 6.6% to USD261.2m, as compared with USD279.6m in the corresponding period of the prior year. Year-to-date total sales were USD1,175.8m, a 6.1% decrease as compared with USD1,251.9m in the corresponding year-to-date period of the prior year.

The company said that comparable store sales for June decreased by 6.5% and year-to-date comparable store sales decreased by 6.0%.
