Lowe's Companies to open four new stores

Jul 14, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- LOW | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Lowe's Companies, a home improvement retailer, has announced that it will open new stores in West Palm Beach, Florida; Marble Falls, Texas; Mayodan, North Carolina; and Madera, California.

The company said that the West Palm Beach and Madera home improvement stores have 117,000 square feet of retail sales space, with an adjacent garden center, stocking 40,000 different items to help customers build, improve and beautify their homes. A store of this size represents an average investment in the community of approximately $18.5 million and creates up to 175 new jobs, the company added.

The Mayodan and Marble Falls home improvement stores have 102,000 square feet and 94,000 square feet of retail sales space, respectively, stocking 32,000 different items to help customers build, improve and beautify their homes. A store of this size represents an average investment in the community of approximately $12 million and creates up to 120 new jobs, the company noted.
