Concierge Home Services is the local success story of Rebecca Page, a mother of two and stepmother of one. She left a corporate career in Human Resources to start a business that provides work-life balance for both her and her staff. She observes, "Most my staff are actively involved with before and after school activities. Now my franchisees are able to be business owners without compromising time with their children."
The company provides a full range of household services such as housecleaning, window washing, and pet sitting. They serve the growing niche of homeowners who are outsourcing home maintenance tasks. Two franchises were opened in Ottawa in 2008.
Winning the SavvyMom Award "will create more Savvy Mom Entrepreneurs!" laughs Rebecca. She plans on using the cash prize and business advice to expand her franchise network of home-based business owners. She loves that the contest is bringing attention to women entrepreneurs. She states, "I am raising three daughters and it is important for them to see role models who are both businesswomen and mothers."
