This expansion of the employee force is part of a project which involves the addition of chicken deboning operations. About $11 million is expected to be invested by the company to install deboning production lines in this plant. An additional $15 million will be spent towards the processing plant's annual payroll.
Carroll County News quoted Tracy Tedder, complex manager of the Green Forest-Berryville Poultry Complex, as saying: "This project is designed to improve the operational efficiency of our Green Forest plant. Instead of shipping fresh chicken to other plants for deboning, we'll do the work on-site. This will reduce our shipping expenses and should result in improved product yield."
