Jul 16, 2008 (AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION via COMTEX) -- UAUA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Six major airlines in the United States are participating in a new venture that provides destination content and offers to passengers who check in online.

Sojern Inc, a new independently-owned company, has agreed partnerships with American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways.

The content is provided directly on the boarding passes obtained from each airline's online check-in process.

The new service has been launched with Delta Air Lines. The first passengers to receive the content will be those booked on flights to Las Vegas, followed soon after by all of Delta's domestic destinations.

The other airline partners will roll-out the service to their domestic passengers later this year, Sojern said.
