St. Louis, Mo.-based Build-A-Bear Workshop is planning to move in to the shopping center situated in the triangle at Riverside, Wesleyan and Sheraton drives, according to a news release. The Shoppes opened in March.
This will be the company's eighth store in Georgia and the first one in Middle Georgia, according to the company's Web site. The Macon store is expected to open Aug. 22.
"We have many guests from this area who have visited our stores and requested that we bring the furry fun to Shoppes at River Crossing," Maxine Clark, founder and "chief executive bear," said in the release.
Customers choose from more than 30 stuffed animals to make, including bears, dogs, cats, bunnies and monkeys, the release stated. They stuff their animal, "give it a heart filled with wishes" and make a personalized birth certificate. They also can record their own message to add inside the animal and add clothes and accessories.
The company operates more than 370 Build-A-Bear Workshop stores worldwide.
