Lowe's Companies to open new store in Louisiana

Jul 17, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- LOW | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Lowe's Companies, a home improvement retailer, has announced that it will open a new store in Abbeville, Louisiana. The new store is expected to open in the first quarter of 2009.

The company said that the new store will offers more than 32,000 products under one roof. The home improvement store will have 94,000sqft of retail sales space. An additional 26,500sqft garden center will offer a selection of flowers, bushes, trees and garden supplies tailored to the Louisiana climate and lifestyle, the company noted.

A store of this size represents an average investment in the community of approximately $12 million and creates up to 120 new jobs, Lowe's said.
