Coca-Cola Bottling Co. (COKE) said Thursday it received notice that its union workers in Mobile, Alabama, represented by the Teamsters, voted to begin a work stoppage effective immediately after the previous contract expired on July 12.
The union represents approximately 270 employees, or about 4% of the Charlotte-based Coca-Cola bottler's total work force.
The company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it doesn't anticipate the work stoppage will materially affect its results of operations.
