The aim of the Forum is reportedly to promote IPTV by making it easy for consumers to experience it, ensuring interactivity between all devices, networks and technologies. Thomson joins other telecomms industry companies in defining standards for delivering new advanced multimedia services and shaping the future of the broadband market.
According to Thomson, by becoming a member of the Open IPTV Forum, the company is committing significant engineering resources to make the necessary open standards a reality and to open up the potential of IPTV.
