Symantec solutions awarded Common Criteria EAL2+ certification

Jul 21, 2008 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- SYMC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Internet security solutions provider Symantec Corp (Nasdaq: SYMC) announced on Friday (18 July) that Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 and Symantec Network Access Control 11.0 have been awarded Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 2 augmented with ALC_FLR.2 and AVA_MSU.1 (EAL2+) certification.

According to the company, the certification assures customers that Symantec solutions have gone through an analysis and testing process and conform to standards sanctioned by the International Standards Organization. Common Criteria is a worldwide evaluation standard for security products and its certifications are recognized in 25 countries worldwide.

Based on the certification, Symantec Endpoint Protection conforms to the US Government Protection Profile for Anti-Virus Applications for Workstations in Basic Robustness Environments, Version 1.1, 4 April, 2006.
